And the story ends...

This Sunday I came back from Krakow finishing my 1.5 year spent abroad...
So many things happened that it would be impossible to summarize everything in one single post. Most of the things are collected in this blog anyway; however the most important is maybe missing...
During this 1.5 year I guess the most significant was to have so many VERY GOOD friends that are friends for life!! Even if they are on the other side of the world, it doesn't matter because they will be always part of the best period of my life. I think I cannot express enough thanks for that...

I hope to see all of you. And earlier or later I will, I know.

I gonna end this blog now, with this post, even if it's really sad, because finishing an adventure like this makes me truly sad. I hope you enjoyed to read my posts and to my dear friends: I wish to meet all of you again!!!

Farewell party...

Even though, I still have a week in Krakow, some people are about to leave the city... ESN organized a party for us in Zauek with free beers and pizza and many many people and good music... The very last party where most of the people were still presented all together, but after this, Erasmus life finishes...

Orsiiii we'll continue the party in Hungary :)

Thank you!

Best regards

;)

Warsaw

apparently, we were freezing :P
one of the main squares in the old town

castle on the lake (ice??)
Despite the cold weather and freezing all the time, the trip was successful and Warsaw is beautiful… Our travelling group was perfect and of course very international: Rabea (Germany), Valentina, Luis, Luis’s friend Beto (also from Mexico) and me.
Previously, almost everybody told us that Warsaw is an industrial city plus it was completely destroyed during WW2 (85% of the city…) but as a consequence, most of the buildings in the old city center were in an eminently good shape. The colorful houses and the Christmas lights highlighted the general perception.
purple christmas tree - almost february :D
We tried to look around and see as much as possible, so we went to a Park to see the Castle on the Lake, also Chopin’s statue that was a little bit abstract, walking around the old and the new city center, and visiting the Warsaw Uprising Museum! The most surprising part was the 3D cinema where we flew around Warsaw in 1945, after the bombardments. Of course, we ate many times and spent relatively a lot of time inside regarding the weather… Oh, and unfortunately, we “couldn’t buy” any public transportation ticket so that was free for us haha :DOh, and the funniest was definitely the change of guards at midnight :D

between exams

Hopefully I'm done with Int'l Transactions, if not, next week another chance to pass it...
Tomorrow Basic Law and Microec... not too bad :P

Good news: it's highly possible that next semester I'll come back for a weekend to play in the final games with the basketball team :D They'd pay the bus ticket for me :D We'll see but yes, I'd love it...:)

This weekend we might go to Wrocław and Warsaw with Orsi, Luis, Valentina, Luis's friend and Idonnowhoelse... I wanna use the time until I leave Poland because now I feel my international life is finishing for a while...

Waterpolo

another fantastic picture with Orsi :P
I really hope that Hungary and Serbia will play against each other in the final game this weekend :D
Nevertheless, we alo started to organize to watch the games at the weekend with Stefano (Italy) and Draga (Montenegro), I guess it gonna be a lot of fun :D

Concernig the recent news, I'm about to finish the semester, 1 exam tomorrow, I don't know about the rest yet (Microeconomics LOL), final thesis is almost done (waiting for Piotr...), another research paper is under improvement (in order to get 5), Int'l Management (or Strategic Management) is coming today...
Not too much left from this 1.5 year, next Monday I will apply for my courses in Debrecen, and in 3 weeks I'm going home...

UPDATE: Int'l Management = 5 :D

Jan 8, 2012

what a nice weekend :)

Propaganda
I was really glad that Hilda made it to Poland and visited me :) Being roommates in Debrecen we became really good friends and I was happy to host her for these 4 days!  Despite the fact that the bus got broken 10 km away from Krakko and they had to wait 4 hours on the highway, no other problems disturbed our time here.
Without doubt, we had a lot of fun together: siteseeing, partying... We also had a '"Debrecen reunion meeting" with Iwona-Mikolaj-Agatha :D And yes, finally we made it Auschwitz, too.

Propaganda 2
Ohh the best story ever: Hilda and me had a drink in Propaganda, next to la Habana, and while we were waiting for the drinks, Hilda noticed that at the pub they're still using Pascal LOOOOL she took picture of that cause it was too surprising for her :P I was sooo laughing how much she's an IT girl :D

Nevertheless, now I have to start studying:
-          final thesis
Diva
-          SAP research paper
-          international management research
-          international trade
In addition, tests, exams, etc etc…

Also, we have to start planning our trip to the
Baltic states - or anywhere else - in February :D

My winterbreak with Timmo was amazing, I couldn't wish a better one:) It was eventful, foodful, beerful, and so on. :)
The pictures show just part of the places that we visited, we also went to Thália Theater (Miss Saigon), Morrison's (coctail discount), termal spa (Széchenyi), Balaton - travelling by a ferry from Tihany to Szárszó...
We met Zita and Laci in Andersen to drink some shots of Fény :D

Also, we met Lex many times, and  celebrated together New Year Eve in the city center.
Climbed on the Gellért mountain, walked around Margaret Island accrossing several bridges...

short goodbye

Today I say goodbye to Kraków for a short time cause I need to go home and take my exams...
In the last week I've done my presentation for Int'l. Civil & Commercial Law about Int'l Marriage (and divorce:P). It was really exciting especially that I put my favorite Marriage Proposal video in the middle of the pres. .

Meanwhile, I tried to prepare myself for the exams next week. We'll see how I'll perform them. The top of the next week will be my oral exam of databases LOOOL I cannot say I'm looking forward :P
Even though I'm kind of happy to go back to Hungary (this year I spend not more than 3 months all together home :P), I gonna miss Kraków and all of my friends a lot!!!! :)
See you in January!!

plans for February

Unfortunately, I cannot manage to go to Vilnius next weekend because of many school deadlines, forthcoming exams, final thesis, etc...
HOWEVER, due to the fact that I'll have only 2 exams in January and nothing to do in February, I'll make this trip for sure:) Moreover, I found really cheap traveling options!!!
So according to my plan...
Krakow - Warsaw -Vilnius - Riga - Tallin - Helsinki by boat OR Stocholm by plane - and coming back on the same way except that instead of Vilnius, I'd go to Kaunas (also in Lithuania).
We'll see, everything depends on budget and time:)
If you feel like to come with me, let me know ;)

Gdańsk and Sopot

where is the sea? right there:)
Solidarity museum - the entrance
our travelling group
Crooked House - unbalanced

Monument of Solidarity
I'm really glad that we made this trip to the other side of the country.. Despite the really long train way (15 hours) and some creepy guy, it was a perfect weekend:) 6 of us - Shane, Juliana, Shirley, Cory, Valentina and me - decided to travel together and I have to say, I really liked to travel with all of them:) Also, having an American, an Irish and a Canadian in our group was source of many funny moments and debates concerning English language :)
the world's wood longest pier
domino effect - Solidarity museum
We had so much fun... arriving to Gdańsk, Cory accidently stayed on the train so we had to wait for him until he got back with another train.. it was okay, cause we arrived there at 7am. Walking through the city reaching our hostel, we participated the current Independence Day! We got a lot of free stuff, balloons and windmills, and enjoyed the parade of old cars.
the pier from the old lightening house
Gdańsk is beautiful... completely different from Krakow, it's a mixture of Scottish, Polish and mainly German architecture. I know, originally it was Danzig, but still. I didn't expect that it gonna be so similar to Bremen... Walking in the fascinating old city center impressed all of us. I didn't know it before but the movement of Solidarity started in this city, so we saw a huge monument and also, the museum that made me think of those times in the past. In the evening we went to an Irish pub, where unfortunately couldn't drink cider beer, but a regular tyskie with syrup kinda compensated us. Moreover, some other (Northen) Irish guys in the pub were singing "interesting" Irish song :P
girls
it's soooo German :)
Sopot, the other city that we explored, is right next to Gdańsk, 17 minutes by train, and it was the city where we finally could enjoy the panorama of the see. The pier is the longest not only in Poland, but also in Europe (or the world?). We climbed the old lightening house, and took pictures of the strange house on the main street.
main street of Gdańsk
Oh, and I have to mention our hostel that practically was a hotel :P We had 4 bed rooms, but the place was not crowded so we didn't have to share them with strangers. I've never stayed to a hostel like this that moreover was really cheap!
flower and Flora :)
Next trip? It seems we're going to Vilnius :D

first successes

welcome to Krakow
Today I ordered a pizza alone, in Polish :D Kasia and Iwona didn't help me (they couldn't anyway cause they were just keep laughing about me :P) and the pizza finally arrived so if anybody needs some help to order on phone in Polish, you're more than welcome to ask me haha :D

a cow on the car
Tomorrow (actually it's already today :P) Valentina, Cory, Shirley and I are leaving to Gdansk for 3 days!!!! It's going to be an exciting train-trip regarding the fact that it takes 15 hours to get there... whatever, we gonna sleep (or a bit study, too, in my case)
the view from Kopiec Krakusa

Here are some pictures from Kopiec Krausa that I loved so much :) I explored it when I had a lonely walk 2 days ago in Podgorze. Previously I was convinced that the whole district is scary but I have to admit that it’s completely not true.
So see you on Monday with the next post about Gdansk :)

It's kinda hard to chose the best picture of the recent days cause there are soo many :) Most of them're already on facebook so I put here one more with all of us. Thank you for visiting me :)

Julien, our hero :D

Okkay, finally I decided to post some exclusive photo on my blog but not on facebook :D Concerning my picture and the tree: I wanted to take a picture with Zita sitting on the tree but I had to realize I cannot come down and also, I cannot move away so Zita couldn't come up next to me...I guess she didn't even want it :P Also, suffering on the tree, a random turist took some pictures about me LOL it was more than embarrassing :D Hopefully he thought I'm just a crazy Polish girl :P The other picture with Julien...well, he was a hero and it's enough if WE know why :D
I have agoraphobia...
